The Clubhouse at Rockliffe Hall is currently undergoing a refurbishment ahead of the resort’s reopening.

The brief for the designers was to create a space that encapsulates the feel of a contemporary country club, whilst maintaining the five star luxury of the Rockliffe Hall brand. When complete the Clubhouse will have distinct areas for sociable relaxed drinks, a seated bar area and a large dining space in which to enjoy the renowned food.

Rockliffe Hall has linked with several local businesses to deliver the makeover project. North Yorkshire-based Interior Design Room has been responsible for the redesign of the Clubhouse.  Owner, Emma Chapman, says: “I’m thrilled to be working with Rockliffe Hall for this project. The Clubhouse is a fabulous space and we’re adding warmth and atmosphere by using beautiful fabrics such as herringbone lovat tweed, tartan and leather, in warm neutral tones. We’re also adding warmth to the walls and cosy corners, through the use of textured wall coverings, artwork and wall lighting.”

The new design will also maximise the existing panoramic views across the golf course. Emma says: “We’ve opened up the windows by specifying curtains in a light, finely detailed contemporary fabric.”

Other local suppliers working on the project include Jeffrey Carr at Gateshead for the window upholstery and Calverts Commercial Carpets of Northallerton and Thirsk, while the furniture is from Meridian Contract Furniture at Newton Aycliffe and Hill Cross Furniture, near Northallerton.

Jason Adams, Managing Director at Rockliffe Hall, says: “The Clubhouse refurbishment was planned for March but due to the pandemic we had to put it on hold. Now we know we’re able to open our doors again on July 4th, this is the perfect time to carry out the work, which we aim to complete by July 11th. The new-look Clubhouse will be even more welcoming, luxurious and homely when it’s finished and we can’t wait to welcome our members and guests.”
